Curt R. Wachtel 1965-2025
LAKE MILTON — Curt R. Wachtel, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to everyone who knew and loved him, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Curt was born Sept. 30, 1965, in Medina, the oldest son of the late Paul R. Wachtel and current Donna M. Fuller Wachtel. Curt was a lifelong resident of the Canfield area and made his home with his wife Krista Weber Wachtel in Lake Milton, where they shared 26 memorable years of their life together.
Surviving is his wife, Krista Weber Wachtel; daughters, Miranda Ormiston, Elizabeth Seelig Williams and Emily Seelig (Bill Harford); and four grandchildren, Braxton, Colton, Wes and Kinsley. He also leaves behind a sister, Chris T. (Joseph) O’Kernick (Kristen, Ryan). Curt also had a very close connection to the Weber family, as they loved him dearly and treated him as one of their own.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Halle M. Wachtel and Shelly A. (Metz) Wachtel (Cyndle, Chelsea, Callie, Glenn).
Curt attended Canfield High School and graduated in 1984. He worked for Armstrong Cable and many years as a utility locator, then damage investigator for UtiliQuest. He enjoyed four-wheeling, golfing, hunting, fishing, bocce league, spending time with his loved ones, and especially Halloween, as everyone around him in his community enjoyed his and Krista’s elaborate Halloween decorations they put up every year. Curt was a fun-loving guy with a great big heart. He was a hard worker, the life of the party, and he would do anything for anyone and deeply enjoyed everyone who was a part of his life. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515, with a prayer service to follow.
Immediately following services, a celebration of life with dinner will be held at American Legion Post 737, at 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, OH 44429.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Paradise Community Church, 3689 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
