Beverly A. Smith 1956-2025

NEW WATERFORD — Beverly A. Smith, 69, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Born March 29, 1956, in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Julius “Jay” and Wanda Anderson Smith.

A 1974 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beverly was best known for her warm smile and kind heart during her more than 10 years as a cashier at Rulli Brothers. It was there that she formed countless friendships with customers and co-workers alike — many of whom became extended family.

To know Beverly was to be welcomed like family. Whether you were a neighbor, coworker or lifelong friend, Beverly was “mom” or “grandma” to everyone. Her home was always open and no one ever left her table hungry. The holidays, especially Christmas, were her favorite time of year. Her family cherished her festive traditions and, most of all, her famous holiday cookie decorating days.

Beverly loved traveling to Virginia to visit her daughter, Melissa, and especially enjoyed hiking with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “just grandma.”

She leaves behind her daughters, Melissa (Regan) Gretsinger-Lipinski of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Amy (Jamie) Webber of New Waterford; her beloved grandchildren, Rayne, Jake, Abigail, Chloe, Eli, Kellen and Kanaan; and her bonus children, Shannon Raptis and Jayme Schulick, along with many others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Smith.

Calling hours will be 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.

There is no doubt that Beverly had a sweet soul that touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
