Barbara J. Lally 1947-2025

NORTH LIMA — Barbara J. Lally, 77, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born May 22, 1947, in Youngstown, the beloved daughter of the late Catherine C. Chizmar and Edward A. Kolb. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward A. Kolb.
Barbara graduated from East High School in 1965 and went on to live a full and loving life devoted to her family. Barbara served as a homemaker before taking on the role of secretary for Beaver Township police and fire from 1985 to 1990, subsequently becoming a dispatcher known affectionately as “Babs” before retiring in 2015. She was willing to undertake various side jobs to ensure her family always enjoyed a wonderful Christmas.
A proud and caring mother of five, Barbara found her greatest joy in her role as a grandmother to 16 grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her family, especially enjoying sleepovers with her grandchildren, family camping trips, family vacations at Myrtle Beach and celebrating holidays surrounded by those she loved.
Barbara had a zest for life and many passions, including ballroom dancing and horseback riding. She was a constant presence at her grandchildren’s sporting events and extracurricular activities, always offering her enthusiastic support and warm encouragement.
She is survived by her five devoted children, Thomas (Terri) Lally, Kathy (Steve) Bero, Kimmy (Mark) Russo, Michelle (Matt) Monroe and Jeanne (Dan) Beck. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Patrick and Emily Lally; Frank, Lauren, Sarah, Haley and Nathan Bero; Abby and Morgan Russo; Maddison, Mckenna and Max Monroe; and Wyatt, Holly and WesLee Beck.
Barbara’s life was a shining example of love, devotion and strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Columbiana.
A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Fr. Chad Johnson officiating.
