Barbara J. Drotleff 1960-2025

CANFIELD — Barbara J. Drotleff, 64, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, May 18, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born Sept. 30, 1960, in Franklin, Pa., Barbara was the youngest of five children of the late Elmer E. and Helen Kusz Rodgers. She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1978 and moved to the Canfield area in 1986.
Before settling in Canfield, Barbara worked at a boot shop and at Thrift Drugstore (later known as Eckerds).
She loved her Lord of Life church family and became the administrative assistant. The choir was her joy, along with the confirmation kids. “Team Pasta” made each month special in the shared fellowship.
Above all, Barbara was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her two sons, and a second mom to all of their friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Thomas Drotleff, whom she married Aug. 23, 1986; and her sons, Michael (Heather) Drotleff of Oxford and Daniel (Mackenna Renforth) Drotleff of Howland Township. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Gary (Marilyn) Rodgers of Cochranton, Pa.; and her sisters, Patricia (Peter) Disque of Oil City, Pa., and Mary (Jim) Sobrowski of Franklin, Pa.
She will be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law, MaryLou, with whom she shared many cherished afternoons. Barbara also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Mike (Tammi) Rodgers, Barry Rodgers, Scott (Monika) Rodgers, Eric Rodgers, David (Pam) Disque and James (Khaililah) Sobrowski Jr.; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her deep love for animals was evident in the bond she shared with her cherished horse, Cici — lovingly cared for by Robert and Jackie — and her beloved dog, Pogo.
Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Rodgers.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
