Anna Marie Cercone 1936-2025

BOARDMAN — It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Anna Marie Cercone. She passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Hospice House.
Anna was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Youngstown, to Frank and Antoinette Sabelli Dando. She graduated from East High School and worked at Strouss downtown. She later retired as a teacher’s aide for Youngstown City Schools, where she worked for many years.
She married Samual A. Cercone on Jan. 7, 1956, and he passed away Jan. 3, 1997. Sam and Annie were founding members of St. Luke Parish. She was involved in their Altar and Rosary Society and worked alongside Sam at the sausage booth at the annual festival. She loved the Virgin Mary and said her Rosary and prayed every day.
Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Don; grandchildren, Jenna, great-grandson, Enzo; and Marra (Becky) Vano-Cercone, and great-granddaughter, Evelyn; her daughter, JoEllen (David) Kieffer; and grandchildren, Alyson (Eric) Bunnell and great-granddaughter, Everly; and Andrew (Katrina) Kieffer; and daughter, Jody (Tim) Donoghue; and grandchildren, Erin (Dan) Hagerty, great-grandchildren, Danny, Aiden and Anna; Brittany (Anthony) Chimento, great-granddaughter Norma; and grandson, Connor. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Edith Prokop, Jane Tatarka and Alice Dando.
Mom was the sweetest and most loving person. She will be missed by family and friends and all who knew her.
Family and friends may pay their respects 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Saturday May 17, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church in Boardman.
