William A. Wasylko 1949-2025
LOS ANGELES — My brother, William A. “Bill” Wasylko, passed away in his sleep on Monday, March 31, 2025, in his home in Los Angeles, where he had lived for almost 39 years.
Bill was born Sept. 21, 1949, in Sharon, Pa., to parents John and Mary Ezinski Wasylko. He shared the same birth month and day with both of his parents. I, his only sibling, joined the family five years later.
Bill graduated from Hubbard High School with the Class of 1967 and furthered his education at YSU, earning a BA Degree. During those college years, he was employed by Hills Department store in Liberty Township.
Bill loved community theatre and was active in the Youngstown Playhouse and TNT, Niles, performing on stage as well as behind the scenes.
Bill was of the Orthodox faith and was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage.
After our mother passed away, Bill made the decision to relocate to California. He worked as a production manager for Cerrell Associates for over 20 years.
Bill loved the vegetation of California and often helped his neighbors with their flower beds. He loved to walk the Hollywood Hills, visit museums and, if you were lucky enough to visit him, he would take you everywhere, showing you the sights and telling you of its history. Best tour guide ever!
Bill had many friends, dear friends.
He was preceded in death by our parents, brother-in-law, Bud Yocum; and nephew, Jeff Yocum.
He will be missed by sister, Joyce Yocum; nephew, John (Autumn) Yocum of Hubbard; niece, Lynn (Jim) Macmillan of Chagrin Falls; and many cousins.
Cremation and Funeral arrangements were handled by Hollywood Forever Mortuary, Los Angeles, California.
Family and friends are invited to visit the funeral home’s website at www.stewart-kyle.com to share memories and condolences.
