Ronald M. Drabiski 1940-2025

Ron was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of the late Mike and Helen Kuzlin Drabiski. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.

He started his career as a history teacher and then went on to work at General Motors until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, he went on to be a social worker.

Ron was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leetonia. He enjoyed being involved in the community, serving as a Cub master, softball coach, Lion’s Club, Meals on Wheels and RSVP. He also served in various positions on church councils and community HOAs.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf and cards, especially bridge. Ron also had a passion for being a producer, writer and actor for the Senior Productions in Florida.

Ron is survived by his wife, Martha Hecker Drabiski, whom he married Feb. 8, 1964; a daughter, Melissa (Mike) Taggart; a son, James Drabiski; a grandson, James Drabiski Jr.; a sister, Beverly “Cookie” Spicer; and his dog, Dotty.

Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Drabiski.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
