Robert C. Mullen 1932-2025

HUBBARD — Robert C. Mullen, 92, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Bob was born July 15, 1932, in Youngstown, a son of Chester H. and Ruth A. Ruffner Mullen. He was a 1950 graduate of South High School.

Bob was an accomplished fisherman. He spent many years as a representative for outdoor brands, fishing in hundreds of tournaments and making many memories with his son Dale. Bob had an incredible artistic talent and the ability to build furniture and almost anything.

For 42 years he was a sheet metal worker with Youngstown Local 33 before retiring in 1994. For many of those years, he was job superintendent at A.A. Samuels Sheet Metal Co. in Youngstown, running jobs both locally and internationally.

Bob was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was the head of property maintenance and was on church council. He was awarded Youngstown Christian of the Year, was a YMCA Indian Guide Leader and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

His wife, the former Mary Ann Majetich, whom he married Aug. 22, 1953, passed away Dec. 7, 2020. Prior to his wife’s death, Bob was her caregiver for 15 years.

He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family, his son, Dale (Karen) Mullen of Worthington; and three grandchildren, Grace Mullen, Maggie (Sam) Mullen and Cynthia Sartori; and three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Zenia and Ira. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Richard (Mary Margaret) Buchenic; and nephew and niece, John and Becky.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Denise M. Morchak; and niece, Chrys Buchenic Beebe.

There will be services held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, with calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Bob will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
