Linda M. Machi 1961-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Linda Mae Hollabaugh Machi, a ray of sunshine, love and laughter, passed away peacefully at home with family, Monday, March 31, 2025.

She was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Youngstown, and graduated from Liberty High School in 1979. Linda was a devoted mother, an adoring “Memaw” and loyal friend who made everyone she met feel cherished.

Linda’s greatest pride was her family. She poured endless love into raising her children, Crystal Machi, Carla Machi and Michael “Tony” Machi Jr.(fiancee, Shannon Martin); and showered her five grandchildren, Lauren, Aryawna, Angeliya, Isiah and the late McKinzie with affection, wisdom and her amazing sense of humor. Her home was always full of warmth, whether she was offering a listening ear, sharing a joke or simply making those around her feel seen and loved.

A woman of remarkable kindness and resilience, Linda faced life’s challenges with grace and a contagious smile. She believed in the good in people and had a gift for making strangers feel like family. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her generous heart.

Linda was reunited in heaven with her parents, Alton and Naomi Dennison Hollabaugh; her sister, Jane Garland; her beloved granddaughter, McKinzie; and beloved daughter, Carla Mae Machi.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Michael Machi; her children and grandchildren; sister, Ellen Black; and brothers, Alton Hollabaugh Jr. and Sonny Hollabaugh; as well as a community of friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held for close family and friends.

“Though her smile is gone forever, and her hand we cannot touch, we’ll never lose the memories of the one we loved so much.”
