Edgar W. Robbins 1952-2025

He was born Jan. 27, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of Edgar and Ethel E. “Evelyn” Tarr Robbins.

Edgar was a 1970 graduate of New Springfield High School and worked as a store manager for Taylor Rental for almost 30 years prior to retiring in 2014. He then worked for a time for Goodwill Industries.

He married the former Mary Anne Welsh on Nov. 3, 1973. They shared 51 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives him.

Edgar was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed coaching his sons various teams and cheering them on while they were playing. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Edgar was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife, Edgar is survived by six sons, Matthew Robbins and Michael Robbins, both of Mineral Ridge, Jeffrey (Jessica) Robbins of McDonald, Jonathan (Sarah) Robbins of Lyndhurst, Joseph Robbins of Akron and Thomas Robbins of Mineral Ridge. He also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Dylan, Maximus, Conner and Audrey Jean.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Robbins; and two sisters, Evelyn Russell and Carol Neeld.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Canfield Niles Road, Mineral Ridge, with the Rev. Richard Murphy officiating.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
