Brandon E. Schwartz 1987-2024

MIDLAND, Texas — Brandon Edward Schwartz, 37, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.

He was born Oct. 20, 1987, in Youngstown, the son of Patty (Jim) Slivanya and Williams Schwartz of Boardman.

He leaves behind his brother, Bryan Schwartz; sister-in-law, Christina Cigliano; and nephew, Harrison, all of Redondo Beach, California. His stepbrothers were family to him: Jim (Melissa) Slivayna, nephew, James; and niece, Kate, all of Sanibel Island, Florida; and Mike (Lori) Slivanya of Glenford, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Ernest Gorgei, and Mary Schwartz-Clark.

Brandon graduated from Boardman High School, earned his bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University in political science and his master’s degree in criminology at Youngstown State University.

He held several jobs, starting at Sports World, Norfolk Southern Railroad, Brinks, Core Health and Fitness, Hollywood Racino, NEO Corrections, as a realtor with Keller Williams and his most recent position with Union Pacific Railroad in Odessa, Texas, as a manager of train operations.

Brandon will be remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends for his smile, sense of humor, worth ethic, zest for life, hiking and traveling the world, and his willingness to always help those in need.

He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Brandon was honored with a hero walk for his organ donation and has given the gift of life to five recipients.

Per his request, his ashes will be placed in a Bio Urn to grow a tree and be planted in his remembrance.
