Ann Marie Bolan, 1936-2024
YOUNGSTOWN — Ann Marie Bolan, 88, passed away peacefully, Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, with her family by her side.
Ann Marie was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Bessemer, Pa., in the home of her maternal grandmother, the daughter of Theodore and Sarah Macaluso Bolan, the fourth of five children, and the only girl.
She grew up in Youngstown and was a lifelong member of St. Dominic Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and then worked for U.S. Steel until it closed in 1980.
She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. She was the caregiver to her parents and brother as they aged. Ann always read The Youngstown Vindicator to keep up on the news and do the crossword puzzles. She had a green thumb and was most often outside planting, tending and harvesting her beautiful garden. One year, she won the Mahoning County compost competition.
She is survived by her oldest brother, Peter; her Aunt Dorothy; and nieces and nephews, Peter Bolan, Joseph (Laura) Bolan, Timothy (Deborah) Bolan, Dianne (Christopher) Kozecke, Annie (David) Mueller, Sarah Floor, Elizabeth Bolan, Robert (Marsha) Bolan, Theresa Rider, Thomas (Ruth) Bolan, Mike Bolan, Salvadore Bolan, Catherine (David) Myers, Maria (Daniel) Piliero and Rosemary (Robert) Wagner.
Besides her parents, Ann Marie was preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas, Robert and Theodore.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at St. Dominic Church, 77 E Lucius Ave., Youngstown, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with Father Vincent De Lucia, O.P. as celebrant.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
