Andrew S. Goske 1953-2024
POLAND — Andrew S. Goske, 71, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Born in Youngstown, on Aug. 22, 1953, Andrew was a proud graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and held a master’s degree in business from Youngstown State University. Following his master’s degree, he taught business classes part-time at YSU.
He married his high school sweetheart, Debra, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025.
With a career spanning 42 years in management at General Motors, Andrew was a dedicated and respected employee. Beyond his professional achievements, he found joy in the simple things in life, cultivating his love for cooking, gardening and spending time with his family and young grandchildren.
In his younger days, he had a passion for hunting and fishing, and later that passion was replaced with golf. In the last few years, he rediscovered his passion for the arts and found great joy in generously sharing his time as a docent at The Butler Institute of American Art.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Debra C. Orsinelli Goske, whom he married Oct. 11, 1975; their daughters, Jessica (Philip) Walley of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kristin (Christopher) Wheatley of Poland; grandchildren, Gabriella and Elijah Wheatley; as well as his siblings, Mary Tabaka of Columbus, Paul Goske of Boardman, Pauline (Michael) Edgar of Houston, Texas, and Barbara (Ed) Chovan of Bradford, Pa.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Susan Kushma Goske; brother, Joseph Goske; and sisters, Susan Beil and Patricia Dennee.
