Warren D. Adair Jr. 1948-2024
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Warren Dale Adair Jr., 76, was granted eternal rest with Our Lord on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.
Warren was born in Youngstown, the son of Warren D. Adair Sr. and June C. McCreery Adair, on July 31, 1948. He lived most of his life in Youngstown and moved to Punta Gorda, Florida, eight years ago.
He attended St. Christine Parochial School, Chaney High School and Youngstown State University. Warren enlisted in the Army in 1966 and was a SP E5 within the 7th Transportation Command, Fort Eustis, Virginia. As a proud Vietnam veteran, he earned two Bronze Star Medals for his service from 1966-1967 in Vietnam with the 523rd Transportation Company. After his service, Warren was employed with the Ford Motor Credit Company as a finance and insurance manager, retiring in 2000. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Warren enjoyed woodworking, RV traveling, watching Ohio State football, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a man of faith and a beloved and supporting husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Warren leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Frances E. Oleksa Adair, whom he married April 4, 1970, at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Youngstown; children, Ronald Adair of Akron, Sheri (Paul) Kuzmiak of Austintown, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Garczewski of Punta Gorda and Jeffrey Adair of Columbus; grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Partika, Danielle Leonard, Victoria Adair, Trenton Adair, Cecilia Garczewski and Parker Garczewski; and brothers, Thomas (Judy) Adair of Oklahoma and Timothy (Karen) Adair of Florida. He will be deeply missed by all.
Besides his parents, Warren was predeceased by his sister, Maureen Burke.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 15, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church, Punta Gorda, Florida, followed by a military tribute and reception at Charlotte Memorial and Funeral Home, Punta Gorda, Florida.
