Rosemarie Fintor Knott 1936-2024

BOARDMAN -- Rosemarie Fintor Knott, 88, passed peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Hospice House in Poland, surrounded by her loving family.

Rosemarie was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Steven and Rose Tomsick Fintor. She was a lifelong area resident.

She attended Boardman elementary and middle schools and graduated from Boardman High School.

Rosemarie graduated from Youngstown State University with her master's degree in English.

Soon after graduating, she began teaching language arts at both Boardman elementary school and then the middle school. Rosemarie was head of the English department and worked 50 years until her retirement. After retiring, she worked part-time at Youngstown State University in communication and the English department.

Rosemarie was a member of St. Charles Church and was very active in helping at the church for many years.

Her family was extremely important to her; she loved spending time with them.

Rosemarie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Karen R. Dycman (fiance James Holt) of Boardman; her granddaughter, Danielle M. Dycman of Canfield; and her fur baby, Bella.

Besides her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her son, David John Knott, who passed away in May 2023; and her brother, Stephen Fintor.

Family and friends may call 10 to 10:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Very Rev. Monsignor John A. Zuraw.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Rosemarie's family has requested material tributes be given to either Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Youngstown, OH 44514; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
