Robert J. Stinson 1948-2024

He was born May 1, 1948, in Salem, a son of Floyd and Betty Campbell Stinson.

Bob was a 1966 graduate of United High School and worked for General Motors in Lordstown for 39 years, retiring in 2006. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He married the former Elaine Starr on July 2, 1997. They shared 27 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives him.

Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Girard and VFW Post 4192 in Mineral Ridge. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.

Besides his wife, Bob is survived by a daughter, Latisha Vaughan. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Joey Martin and Kayla Stinson; a brother, Gary Stinson; and a sister, Mary (Carl) Barker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Stinson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Lane Funeral Home- Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, with Pastor Joel Theis officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
