Ode J. Grubb Jr. 1952-2024
YOUNGSTOWN — Ode J. Grubb Jr., 71, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday morning, Oct. 3, 2024, with his loving family by his side, after a four-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.
Ode was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Youngstown, the son of Ode J. Sr. and Jacqueline Dolne Grubb and was a lifelong area resident.
Ode began his career of over 36 years as a maintenance supervisor in 1983, with Little Forest Medical Center, which is currently Park Center Healthcare, where he retired in 2019.
Ode was an avid sports fan and loved rooting on his favorite teams the Cleveland Browns, Guardians and Cavaliers along with The Ohio State University “Buckeyes.”
Ode had many passions in his life. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and carpentry and loved to cook, especially on the grill, making him an expert “Grill Master.” Nothing brought Ode greater joy than spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren and hosting the annual 4th of July picnic.
Ode leaves behind his beloved wife of over 41 years, the former RoseAnn Raghanti, whom he married on May 21, 1983; his daughters, Jodi (Saul) Gonzalez of Poland, Lisa Helle of Boardman and Melissa (Wes) Barnes of Jamestown, Pa.; his grandchildren whom he adored, Gianna, Skyla, Katlyn, Cody and Shane; and a sister, Sherrie Grubb-Wolfe of Youngstown, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ode was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Russ Adams as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
