Albert Pacella 1942-2024

STRUTHERS — Albert Pacella, 82, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, 2024.
Albert was born May 23, 1942, in Pacentro, Italy, the son of Antonio and Adelina Colangelo Pacella, and immigrated to the United States in 1958.
He worked at General Motors in Lordstown, retiring in 1994. Albert was also a talented tailor.
Albert was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a committee member of the Madonna DiLoreto Festa, the New Middletown Farmers and Sportsmen Club, and Gardeners of Greater Youngstown. He was an avid golfer, playing in multiple years and being a finalist in the Greatest Golfer of Mahoning Valley Tournament, as well as a gardener, hunter and outdoorsman. He belonged to multiple golf leagues, the Youngstown Morra League and the Pacentrano Bocce League.
Albert will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, Giuseppina “Pina” (D’Addario) Pacella, whom he married Oct. 28, 1967; daughter, Claudia (David) DiIanni; son, Albert (Michelle) Pacella; grandsons, Alexander, Lucas and Matthew DiIanni, and Albert Pacella; granddaughter, Ava Pacella; two sisters, Emma Niro and Velia Sellers; brothers, Patsy (Anna Marie) Pacella and Mario (Frances) Pacella; sisters-in-law, Carmela Buccilli and Lucia D’Addario; brother-in-law, Teodoro Rossi; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Giovanni and Filomena (Giammarco) D’Addario; sisters-in-law, Anna Maria (Giovanni) Pallozzi, Paolina (Gaetano) Ferrusi and Giulianna Rossi; and brothers-in-law, Nunzio Buccilli, Rinaldo D’Addario and Gus Niro.
Family and friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. Friends may call again at the funeral home 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church, 764 Fifth St. in Struthers.
