Clara L. Casale 1931-2024

HUBBARD — Clara Louise Casale, 92, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Clara was born Oct.17, 1931, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony J. Valley and Lena J. Policy Valley Anzivino. She was a 1950 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Clara worked in the recorder’s office at the Mahoning County courthouse, later worked at G.F. Fireproofing,
and Aluminum Air Seal, where she met the love of her life, Sam Casale.
Clara started cooking with her mother, Lena, and brother, John Valley, at The House of Valley in Hubbard.
After many years, she went out on her own and was well known for her homemade Italian cuisine. She did catering at The Brentford House, Tiffany Manor and St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, where she would cater three or four jobs in one day during graduation season.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Clara was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Her husband of 64 years, Samuel J. Casale, whom she married March 2, 1957, passed away Nov. 23, 2021.
She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family, her daughters, twins Marie (James) Allen of Macedonia and Michele Casale of Hubbard, and Marlene (John) Clemente of Hubbard; five grandchildren, Kristin (Dave) Watkins, Michael (Nicole) Clemente, Jared (Samantha) Clemente, Joshua Allen and Ashley Allen; and five great-grandchildren, Johnny Watkins, Rocco Watkins, Antonio Clemente, Mackenzie Clemente and Tyler Clemente. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Marilyn J. Casale; and her brothers, John Valley and Anthony Valley.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial with the Very Rev. Michael Balash officiating at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard.
Clara will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
