Michael S. Kirchner 1942-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Michael S. “Mickey” Kirchner, 82, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 4, 2024, at his home.

Mickey was born March 22, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of Oscar “Buck” and Beatrice “Bonnie” Schenkel Kirchner.

Mickey will always be remembered by his wife of 24 years, Nancy J. Gelonese Kirchner of Youngstown; children, Missy (Mark) Isakowitz of Oak Hill, Virginia, Jill (Lyn) Shenk of Arlington, Virginia, Joseph Jr. (Ashley) Carrier of Youngstown and Jonah Kirchner of Youngstown; grandchildren, Carly (Eric) Graham of Falls Church, Virginia, Zachary (Allie) Isakowitz of Oak Hill, Virginia, Hannah Isakowitz (Dan Greener) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Aidan Shenk, Cady Shenk and Ally Shenk of Arlington, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Emmy and Ava Graham; brother, Ronald Kirchner of Powell; sister, Lesley (Marvin) Korach of Portland, Oregon; brother-in-law, Thomas (JoEllen) Gelonese of Canfield; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his son, Brian Kirchner.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Mickey from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at St. Christine Parish, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511.

There will be a funeral service in the church at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in Tod Cemetery in Youngstown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mickey’s name to Congregation Ohev Beth Sholom, 1119 Elm St., Youngstown, OH 44505, or St. Christine Parish, 3165 S Schenley Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511.
