William N. Messner 1960-2024

He was born in Ravenna, Aug. 8, 1960, the son of Charles D. and Tana Jane Manley Messner.

Bill retired after working over 30 years as a union roofer for Youngstown Local 71. Following retirement, he instructed and helped journeyman roofers with their certification courses.

An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time outdoors, camping and hiking. Bill especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and family.

Bill is survived by a son, Matthew (Brenda) Messner of Girard; two grandchildren, Madison Messner and Nolan Messner; sister, Cynthia (Nick) Racin of North Jackson; and two former wives, Michele Messner of Columbiana and Margaret Molter of Enon Valley, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Chuck Messner.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. A going-home service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at New Vision New Day Church in Youngstown.
