Vesna Vukasinovich 1949-2024

Vesna was born Nov. 24, 1949, in Belgrade, Serbia. She came to America as a small child and was the youngest immigrant to have come through Ellis Island at the time. Vesna lived most of her life in Youngstown. She was a graduate of Youngstown State University and a lifelong social worker.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Earl Gibbs; her son, Keith Vukasinovich (Niqqi), her brother, Atty. Tim Tusek (Cathy); her stepchildren, James Jr., Timothy, Cathy and Regina; her grandchildren, Malik, Milan, Nikoli and Anika; and more friends and “adopted” children than one could count.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sonja Tusek; and her father, Milenko Vukasinovich.

Vesna was a blessing to everyone who knew her and a friend to all. She always gave of herself and put the needs of others before her own.

Arrangements are being handled by Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, OH 44511.

Calling hours will be held 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, at the funeral home. Prayer services will begin at 10:30 a.m.
