Terrance J. Barnes 1946-2024

HUBBARD — Terrance “Terry” James Barnes of Hubbard died at home, Friday morning, July 5, 2024, quietly and peacefully, and went to be with his Lord and his family, who I’m sure were waiting for him.

He was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Youngstown, a son of Warren Eugene and Mary Madden Barnes.

Terry was of the Catholic faith, worked for GM Lordstown for 47 years and was a member of Union Local No. 1112 .

He loved to golf, having golfed in many leagues, and enjoyed swimming, fishing and football, especially watching the Cleveland Browns. Terry also loved working in the yard, gardening and planting flowers. What he loved the most was his family, his grandkids and his two cats, Izzie and Little One.

He leaves behind the ones who will keep his memory alive: his wife, the former Linda Cottrill, whom he married July 21, 1967; his children, Kelly Anne Swartz (Kevin) of West Hickory, Pa., Terrance M. (Patty) of Youngstown, Michael J. of Hubbard and Tracy L. Muccio (fiance Brian Bayus) of Hubbard; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Gene of Youngstown, Jack of Girard, Bobby of Akron and Larry of Canfield.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Jimmy and Richard; and his sister, Carol Novak.

Family and friends may call 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with Deacon Bob Friedman officiating.
