Rosella V. Tekac 1945-2024

CAMPBELL — Rosella “Cookie” V. Tekac, 78, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Rosella was born Dec. 20, 1945, in London, England, a daughter of Matthew and Rose Tear Luc.

Rosella came to Campbell as an infant from England. She was a 1963 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She married her husband, Richard Tekac, on Oct. 21, 1967.

Cookie was a banker at Huntington Bank in New Bedford, Pa. She spent many years working for Naz Frazzini at Knoll’s Paint Center, and she also worked for Campbell Hardware under Mr. Paul Tater.

Rosella was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd in Campbell and belonged to Level Up Group from Christ Community Church. She was previously a member of St. James Catholic Church.

She loved going on bus trips, shopping, decorating and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rosella also enjoyed her trips to Kentucky. Rosella was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Rosella will be deeply missed and always remembered by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Vicki (Jack) Edwards of Pulaski, Pa.; her son, Brian (Jessica) Tekac of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; her sister, Linda (Michael) Bobic of Campbell; her brothers, Matthew (Marsha) Luc Jr. and Gary (Sharon) Luc, both of Coistville; and grandchildren, Brandon and Lexie Tekac.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Luc; and her sister-in-law, Donna Weis.

The Tekac family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends and family 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Christ Community Church in Campbell, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dan Yargo.

Rosella will be laid to rest in St. James Cemetery in New Bedford, Pa.
