Patricia A. James 1955-2024

NORTH JACKSON — Patricia A. James, 69, of North Jackson, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a hard-fought battle with an extended illness.

She was born March 14, 1955, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ronald and Agnes Smith Sauer.

Patty was a 1973 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and went on to achieve an associate degree from ETI Technical College. She worked for a time for General Motors in Lordstown and was currently employed as a cardiac monitor technician with Mercy Health. She married David W. James, Jr. “Stubby” on Dec. 31, 1993. They shared 30 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He survives her.

Patty enjoyed traveling and taking long motorcycle rides with her husband. Some of their rides were around the lake, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Tail of the Dragon and the Back of the Dragon as well as Florida and Myrtle Beach. She loved watching Shrek, taking her grandkids to feed the animals at Pymatuning Deer Park in Pennsylvania, and playing games when she could get everyone together. She also loved shopping with her daughters and her favorite holiday was Christmas – she loved decorating her Christmas trees.

Besides her husband, Patty is survived by her mother, Agnes Sauer of Austintown; and her children, Kristy Moore of Austintown, Daniel (Pamela) James of Homosassa, Florida, Gina JamesTucker of Canfield and Jaclyn James-Iagulli of Austintown. She also leaves behind two sisters, Denise Altier of Boardman and Karen (Timothy) McMillin of Howland; eight grandchildren, Daniel Jr. “DJ” (Madison), Dalton, Christina, Larry, Scotty, Zachary, DeLaena Jo “DJ” and Rylen; two great-granddaughters, Madilyn and Maelani; and four sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by father, Ronald; a brother-in-law, Terry James; and a niece, Stacy Altier.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m., prior to services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
