Albert R. Betts 1947-2024

He was born Jan. 3, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of the late June Williamson and Roy Betts Sr.

Albert is survived by four children, Monica Pavlick, and partner, David McElhiney of Cuyahoga Falls, Raymond Betts, and spouse, Jennifer Gaudreau of Cleveland, Marcia Stair, and spouse, Rick of Wadsworth, and Tyler Betts, and partner, Tricia Doyle of Fairview Park; one stepdaughter, Shannon Kraustok and spouse, Stephen of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren, Wolfe Pavlick, Katerina Betts, Ryan Betts, Elliot Gaudreau, Ulysses Betts-Bay, Bellamy Betts-Bay, Byron Bay, Vladimir Kraustok, Danyka Kraustok and Ada Hsi; and his partner at time of death, Cheryl Yurcak.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Betts Jr.; and his sister, Laura Betts. He was also followed in death by the mother of his children, Donna Spicer.

Albert was a beloved father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, husband, partner and friend. A lifelong lover of animals and a devoted attendee and board member at Franklin Circle Church in Cleveland, Albert spent much of his time in service of others. Albert also loved his sports teams, particularly the Cleveland Guardians and Pittsburgh Steelers, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and the Jumble in the newspaper.

A memorial service for Albert will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Franklin Circle Christian Church, 1688 Fulton Road, Cleveland, OH 44113.
