Lawrence A. Myers 1979-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Lawrence Albert Myers passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, following a sudden and quick illness.
He was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments. They showered him with his favorite things: love, jokes, religious chants and Phish tunes. Everyone is grateful that he was granted peace and family at the end.
Larry was known for his heart and his spirit. He could always be counted on for dependability, kindness and connection from anyone in his life. He touched everyone he met.
Religion was very important to him: he was practicing a form of Japanese Buddhism referred to as Shinnyo-en. His beliefs were full of a sense of compassion and he traveled to Japan recently because he was chosen to be a participant in a ceremony for Her Holiness. One concept that spoke to him from the Heart Sutra is “emptiness is form.” Put very simply, everything we see is both empty and full of potential at the same time, and the nature of reality is not fixed, but dependent on one’s own perception. He let life be what he made it, and he’d want you to, too.
Larry was a realtor for the last 25 years. He has always been passionate about dedicating himself wholeheartedly to helping people through his work. To him, his job was an unshakeable commitment to the people he met. His coworkers admired his gratitude and wit, and he will be missed.
He is survived by his three children, Tela Myers, Milo McCormick and Emet Myers; and his fiancee, Elizabeth Khumprakob, who was one of his best friends. He is also survived by both of his parents, Lawrence Myers and Marilyn Myers; and his three sisters, Sharon (Vincent) Myers, Lynn (An-Yu) Chen and Lori (Ray) Stein.
Despite leaving his family so young and so soon, they believe that the years they had together were full enough to sustain many lifetimes. His memory will be cherished deeply and celebrated often.
Calling hours will be held at noon Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S. Silvat Inc., 3896 Oakwood Ave., Austintown, OH 44515.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to help finance a congregational memorial space. Please share memories, send condolences or make a donation by visiting cremateohio.com.
