Donna J. Damelio 1949-2024

GIRARD — Donna J. Damelio, 75, peacefully departed this world Saturday, June 8, 2024.

She was born April 25, 1949, in Warren, to John Semko Sr. and Dorothy Kirkwood Semko. Donna, known for her caring nature and warm spirit, touched the lives of many with her kind heart. Most of all she always wanted to share her love of Jesus her Savior to her family, friends and everyone she came in contact with.

Throughout her life, Donna found joy in simple pleasures such as gardening, fishing, camping, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. Her love for these activities reflected her nurturing personality and created lasting memories for all who knew her.

Donna’s family and friends will always cherish the moments shared with her. She is survived by her loving husband, James Damelio; daughters, Laura (Casey) Welsh, Julia Byrne-Damelio, Darla (Rick) Caban and Christina (Mike) Welsh; son, Maurice (Chrissy) Damelio; sisters, Louise (Ernie) Culver and Linda Cannistra; grandchildren, Michael (Bethany) Welsh, Karlee Byrne, Angela Byrne, Elizabeth Damelio, Jimmy Damelio, Joseph Micco, Brooke Welsh and Anthony Cordova; her great-grandchildren, Mila, Owen, Zoe, Noah, Cora and Josie; and three future grandbabies she has not met.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Sullivan; brother, John Semko Jr.; and her grandsons, Alan Michael and Tyler James. Donna also joins her parents, John Semko Sr. and Dorothy in eternal peace.

The life of Donna J. Damelio will be honored at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. A visitation will take place 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, followed by a memorial service from 4 to 5 p.m.

There will be a dinner after the service at the Girard Multi-Generational Center for fellowship and memories of Donna.

Donna’s legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, may we find solace in the beautiful memories Donna has left behind.
