Barbara Ann Vivacqua 1942-2024

BOARDMAN — The family of Barbara Ann Vivacqua mourns her passing on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of 81. Barbara was born Dec. 5, 1942, to James and Isabel Bruno Bartolma, and raised on the East Side of Youngstown. She graduated from East High School in 1960 and attended many class reunions. Barbara met her husband, Anthony, and they were married on Anthony’s birthday, Aug. 17, 1963. They spent 60 wonderful years together.

Barbara loved her family more than anything and always made her home warm and welcoming. She will be remembered for her delicious homemade sauce on Sundays, a family favorite. She enjoyed shopping at TJ Maxx, decorating, cross-stitching, painting and working on her dollhouses. She entered her projects at the Canfield Fair and won many ribbons. After raising her family, Barbara worked for Postal Church and made many friends. Barbara loved to entertain and one of her most memorable events was the outdoor tea party she hosted for her friends. In their retirement years, Anthony and Barbara were snowbirds in Naples, Florida, and formed many lasting friendships. Barbara’s love, dedication and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barbara will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: her husband, Anthony L. Vivacqua; children, Renee (Ron Kichton) Vivacqua, Anthony (Carmel) Vivacqua, Kevin Vivacqua, James (Kim) Vivacqua; and two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Vivacqua.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Sevachko. They had many great times together and would speak to each other every day. Barbara kept her in her heart knowing she would see her one day. She adored her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed the many visits she had from her two granddogs, Molli and Petunia.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Parambil for the care he has shown.

Donations in Barbara’s name may be made to Beatitude House in care of Ursuline Sisters Mission.
