Alfred E. Pitts Jr. 1955-2024
MARIENVILLE, Pa. — Alfred E. Pitts Jr., 68, formerly of Hubbard, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca, Pa.
Alfred was born Dec. 8, 1955, in Youngstown, a son of Alfred E. Sr. and Ramona Evans Pitts.
Al was a 1974 graduate of Hubbard High School, where he was a standout football player, was All-Big 10 in football while attending Michigan State University and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns.
As a bricklayer he was a union member of Local 8 and worked for Lencyk Masonry Company for many years, retiring in 2018.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, gardening, camping and being outdoors.
His wife, the former Vada L. Landes, whom he married Sept. 3, 1982, passed away Nov. 3, 2015.
Al will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his sons, Chad (Jenn) Pitts of Albright, W.Va., and Tony (Amy) Pitts of Willow Spring, North Carolina; and his close friend, Melodie Marando of Canfield.
He also leaves his siblings, Liz Delesky of McDonald, Linda (Jim) Rasile of Hubbard, Barb (Hank) Lucy of Hubbard, Alice (Jim) Chakos of Boardman and Charles (Michele) Pitts of Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and son, Cody A. Pitts.
