NORTH LIMA -- William R. Barth, age 77, formerly of Hubbard, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
William was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Youngstown, a son of Rudolph C. and Edith Finn Barth.
He was a 1964 graduate of Hubbard High School and in 1975, received his associate degree in accounting from Youngstown State University.
William worked at Aeroquip Republic Rubber for 26 years, and later was a purchasing agent for 19 years at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Coalburg United Methodist Church. William was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and a member of VFW Post 3767 Hubbard and American Legion Post 0299 Hermitage, Pa. He was active in Boy Scouts for many years; was a committee member for Boy Scout Troop # 55 Youngstown; and was Scout Master of Troop # 67 of Coalburg.
William will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Nanette Hennessy, whom he married July 22, 1978; his children, Amy (Jim) Anderson of Boardman, Aaron (Irisha) Barth of Berwick, Maine, William (Nikki) Barth of Boardman and Shannon (Troy) Whetstone of Hubbard; and 10 grandchildren, Dakota, Nicole, Cameron, Connor, Jordan, Cheyenne, Blake, Colton, Mason and Draven. He also leaves his brothers, Richard (Carol) Barth and David (Shelley) Barth, both of Hubbard.
His parents preceded him in death.
Private services will be held, with full military honors, in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
