Larry C. Hensley 1936-2024

He was born Sept. 24, 1936, to the late Fisher Hensley and Mildred Wyrick Hensley, in Alamance County in North Carolina. Larry was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly honored his country for 27 years. He spent his time stationed all over the world, including Korea, Germany and Italy, and lastly as an ROTC instructor at Youngstown State University before retiring as a first sergeant.

His greatest joy in life was time spent with his family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being an avid chess player.

Larry is survived by his wife, Helga; his two children, Sandra Hensley and Glen Hensley; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Jazmyn; and siblings, Naomi Lewis, Erma Terrell and Dale Hensley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as several brothers and sisters.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gerald Wasko, Dr. Ronald R. Aiello and Dr. Vincent Ricchiuti for their outstanding care and support.

Per the wishes of the family, there will be no public services.
