Kevin J. Coughlin 1958-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Kevin J. Coughlin, 65, passed away unexpectedly at home, Friday, May 3, 2024.

Kevin was born July 19, 1958, in Youngstown, the son of the late Lt. William (YPD) and Jo Louise Coughlin. Kevin was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School Class of 1976. He studied at Youngstown State University and Choffin Career and Technical Center. He was employed at Northside and Southside hospitals for many years, where he became an invaluable employee and acquired many skills over the years. He was an orderly, advanced patient care technician and an orthopedic technician in the cast room and the OR. He was a surgical assistant at Parkside Women’s Center. He traveled many miles as a patient care representative for Zoll Lifecor to apply the lifesaving external pacemaker vest for patients at risk for sudden cardiac arrest.

Kevin was known for his jovial personality, bringing sunshine and laughter to his patients, co-workers and many friends. Along with his smile, he sprinkled Life Saver peppermint candies everywhere he went. He was a golf instructor and an accomplished golfer.

Kevin left behind to cherish his memory, his son, Jacob “Jake” Coughlin of Largo, Florida; brother, Michael (Anita) Coughlin of Canfield; sisters, Patti (Rich) Dalleske, Sr. Mary Grace Rose (Dr. Charles Wilkins), Mary Beth (Russ) Cook and JoAnn Coughlin; and many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services were held at Calvary Cemetery, Thursday, May 23, 2024, per his wishes.
