Delphine Kosmo 1941-2024

COLUMBIANA — Delphine Kosmo, 83, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at Windsor House in Columbiana, surrounded by her family.

Delphine loved to be referred to as “Grandma” and was known as “Aunt Deed” to many family members. She was a full-time mom until she went to work at Northside Hospital in Youngstown in the housekeeping department. She transferred to Salem Regional Medical Center in 1997, where she continued to work in housekeeping until she retired in 2011.

She was a graduate of the first class of Cardinal Mooney High School in 1959.

In her free time, Delphine loved to bake pumpkin bread to share with anyone she thought could use a “special treat.” She was an avid Notre Dame football fan and loved to watch or listen to “her” Cleveland Indians baseball games. Delphine supported her alma mater by attending Friday night football games and followed other Mooney sports by listening on the radio.

She was a member of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.

Delphine is survived by her three daughters, Kerry (Jeff) Bullock of Nelsonville, Holly Radcliff of Columbiana and Kami (Tim) Bacon of Columbiana; and two sisters, Alice Csejtey of Youngstown and Rosalie Chalk of Virginia. Delphine had one grandson, Coleman Bacon, whom she adored; and two stepgrandchildren, Nathan and Savannah Bullock; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Louis, of 57 years.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers. Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Dominic Church in Youngstown on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 10 a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to Cardinal Mooney High School, Advancement Department, 2545 Erie St., Youngstown, OH, 44507. Delphine believed in the education Cardinal Mooney provided and volunteered countless hours, including Mooney’s Annual Fund, to support the school’s mission of Sanctity, Scholarship and Discipline.
