Ina Ray Henry-Madison 1949-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Ina Ray Henry-Madison, born Sept. 2, 1949, a beloved member of the Youngstown community, known for her passion, talent and dedication, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Graduating with honors from The Rayen High School, she pursued higher education, earning both a bachelor of science degree and an MBA from Youngstown State University.

Ina was deeply involved in her church, New Bethel Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities for nearly seven decades. She was a talented musician, actor and producer, leaving a lasting impact on the local arts scene.

In her professional life, she excelled at General Motors Lordstown for over 40 years.

Ina’s greatest joys were her family, including her three sons, Attorney Walter Tawala J. Madison (Nicole) of Streetsboro, Kevin George Madison of Las Vegas, and Dr. Earnest Ray-Anthony Madison (Hasani) of Boyds, Maryland. Her grandchildren, Imani Noel Madison, Nasir Legend Madison, Mekhi Legend Madison, Ania Zion Madison, Eden Zuri Madison and Khari Zora Madison, were the lights of her life.

Throughout her life, she remained active in her community, conducting workshops and supporting various causes. Ina peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

She is survived by her sons, grandchildren, sisters, nephews and cherished friends. Ina’s memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

Ina’s final journey will be honored at a 10 a.m. public viewing and family visitation on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., Youngstown, where a celebration of life ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kenneth L. Simon presiding as the celebrant.

Although Ina may have left this earth, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of many as we reminisce on the precious moments once shared.
