Earl E. Oakman 1934-2024

Earl was born in Jerome, Pa., on June 26, 1934, the son of Earl M.and Ada Yoder Oakman.

He was a graduate of Somerset High School in Somerset, Pa.

Earl began his working career at the age of 11 as a paperboy. He continued in the newspaper industry until he retired in 1995, after working his last 26 years as a printer at the Youngstown Vindicator.

Earl enjoyed spending time golfing, woodworking and antiquing. He especially enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida with his wife.

Memories of Earl will be carried on by his children, Gregory (Karen) Oakman, David Oakman and Brenda (Dennis) Devenport; grandchildren, Brandy (Nelson), Autumn, Jed, Morgan (Doug), Ashley, Mathew (Amanda), Samantha and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Noah (Rebecca), Jonah, Avah, Kailee (Jake), Kaiden, Cole, Leo and Waveland; and special friends, Shayna and Rodger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Swift Oakman, whom he married on June 28, 1952; and son, Michael Oakman.

A private graveside service was held in Niles City Cemetery.
