LUMBERTON, N.C. — Donald Ray Stewart, 63, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023.

He was born Feb. 13, 1960, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Art and Zelma Stewart.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacque Stewart (d. 2018).

Donald was a loving husband and father, a proud papa and a funny and generous man. He had a practical jokester side and was always there to bring laughter to those around him. To know Don was to love him.

Donald is survived by his wife of three years, Michelle Good Stewart; his daughters, Rayelle (Paul) Comesanas and Cory (Todd) Brown; and his stepson, Daryl Babcock. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, including Mackenzie, Alexandria, Zachariah, Elijah, Graeson, Maverick and Daelynn. He was loved by a large extended family and so many friends.

Donald attended John Glen High School and later pursued higher education at Delta College. He spent the majority of his career at Meijer in management before retiring.

Don grew up in Bay City, Michigan, and spent much of his adult life raising his family in Saginaw, Michigan. In 2018, Donald moved to Youngstown to be closer to his daughter, where he met Michelle. Together they enjoyed numerous adventures and lots of travel, especially to the coastline.

They recently retired to the warmer weather of North Carolina in 2022 to be near more of the grandchildren.

Donald enjoyed various hobbies throughout his life, including traveling, collies, photography, spoiling his grandchildren and pestering those he loved.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Corner House Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, OH 44425.

Donald will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Roselawn Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Northeast Ohio Collie Rescue, in Donald’s memory.
