Ann Elaine Facciobene 1929-2024

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. — On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Ann Elaine Mandoline Facciobene peacefully passed away at her home in West Melbourne. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Ann was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Pizzoli, a province of L’Aguila, Italy, a town in the foothills in the center of Italy. Born to Aurielo and Agnes Mandoline, her father Aurielo was a soldier in the Italian Army in WWI. At the end of the war, Aurielo met and married his wife, Agnes.

Aurielo emigrated from Italy and landed in America, where he eventually ended up in Youngstown. Aurielo built a home on his own and within a short time, he returned to Italy to move his wife and daughter to Ohio. Ann was 4 years old when she emigrated to America, growing up in Youngstown.

Ann graduated from high school and met the love of her life, Frank Facciobene, whom she had been married to for 70 years. At the age of 33, Ann along with her husband, Frank, and their three children left all of their family in Ohio and set out for a new life in Florida.

Ann was the backbone of the family, not only was she supporting her husband’s career with all the miracles required for opening, running and managing a small business, she also worked as a librarian. She was brilliant in the literary arts, a master of the English language, a gift she passed down to her children.

In later years, she traveled the world with her husband. Over the course of 30 years, they visited destinations like the Great Pyramids of Egypt, the Russian capital of Moscow, Morocco, Marrakesh, Italy, Germany, France and many other fascinating locations.

She was a devoted Catholic, a disciplinarian, a counselor, an educator, a chef, a healer and most of all, the kindest person you ever met.

She is survived by her children, Frank Jr. (Sally), Ann Marie (Dan) Schwarz and Don (Daricca); 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services have been held.

Arrangements by Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Service and Crematory, Melbourne, Florida.
