Maryann Cooper 1937-2024
AUSTINTOWN — Maryann Cooper, 87, passed away Monday afternoon, March 25, 2024, at Adventura Assisted Living (formerly Humility House), Austintown.
Maryann was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Sam and Helen Havas Wuckovich, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Chaney High School and worked as a cafeteria cashier for the Austintown schools, from where she retired. She was a member of the former Wickcliffe Christian Church.
Maryann looked forward to attending craft shows with her daughter, loved to shop, play cards and bingo. She also loved to travel, and when her children were young, spent summers at their place at Lake Erie. She later wintered in Florida for many years with her husband after he retired.
Her husband, Claire E. Cooper, whom she married Sept. 17, 1955, passed away Aug. 29, 2022.
She leaves her son, Richard (Sandy) Cooper of Canfield; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Cooper of Virginia; a son-in-law, Wayne Lowe of Florida; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jim) Vallos, Ricky (Sara) Cooper, Julie (Brett Bulkley) Cooper, Missy (Don) Kerens, Danielle (Litwiler) Lowe and Jason (Nina) Lowe; and eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Cooper Vallos, Ethan and Madison Cooper, Carson and Peyton Kerens, Greyson Bulkley and Kinsley Lowe. She also leaves her sister, Barb (Jack) Newhard of Austintown; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Maryann was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Cooper Lowe; and a sister, Patty Shonce.
Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
