John E. Carbone 1941-2024
GILBERT, Ariz. — It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John E. Carbone, 83, who peacefully departed this life, Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024.
He was a lifelong resident of Struthers before moving to Arizona in 2022 to be with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Matilda (Perry); and his loving wife of 61 years, Joanne (Wasko).
John was a graduate of Struthers High School, Class of 1959 and was very active in the Struthers Gridiron Club for many years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved making his own wine, which won many awards.
He is survived by his three children, Christina (Marc Anderson), John and Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Lauren Anderson, Connor and Ryan; and his two sisters, Virginia (Derloni) and Lois (William Dunnavant).
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Gilbert, Arizona.
A memorial service will be planned in early spring at St. John’s Cemetery in Coitsville, Ohio, for John and Joanne.
