Esther Therese Pedaline 1922-2024

Esther was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Youngstown, the daughter of Rocco and Maria DiLisio Marian. She was a 1940 graduate of Villa Maria High School.

She was a longtime member of St. Christine Parish, Youngstown, and sang in their church choir. Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she gifted that faith to her family.

She married her beloved husband, Dominic R. Pedaline, on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1946. He preceded her in death, Dec. 27, 2003.

Esther was also preceded in death by her son, Raymond E. Pedaline, on July 20, 2018; and siblings, Daniel, Richard and Arthur Marian, Sister Therese Marian H.M., Juliette DeSalle, Adeline DeSalle, Caroline Augell and Ann Thomas.

She is survived by nine children, Arlene Pedaline, Kenneth Pedaline, Carol (Jim) Howard, David Pedaline, Joyce (Milan) Kacar, Marijo (Lou) Orbin, Gary Pedaline, Therese (Kirk) Wells and Monica Pedaline; 13 grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Howard, Leslie Howard, James (Joanna) Howard, Tom (Brooke) Howard, John (Babita) Howard, Gregory Pedaline, Milan (Misty) Kacar, Matthew Kacar, Luke (Heather) Kacar, Carolyn (Davis) Costner, Dominic (Bri) Kacar, Christian Kacar and Rodney (Rachel) Wells; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Christine Catholic Church, Youngstown, with visitation one hour before at the church.
