Barbara J. Gordon 1948-2024

She was born May 29, 1948, in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert Sr. and Theresa Scanlon Marshall.

Barb was a 1966 graduate of Chaney High School and worked as a custodian for Youngstown City Schools for several years, retiring in 2005. She was the first female head custodian.

Barb had many interests including cards and bingo, and she was an avid Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Barb is survived by her son, James (Genene) Kelty of Austintown. She also leaves behind two siblings, Robert Marshall Jr. and Catherine Bruger; two grandsons, Kyle Sharisky and Martin Sharisky; a great-granddaughter, McKenna Sharisky; and several nieces and nephews, including Bobbi Jean Shilling and Yolanda Marshall, who were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon, who passed away in 2002, and her parents.

Barb’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care she received.

In accordance with Barb’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours.
