Angeline Love 1928-2024

STRUTHERS — Angeline Love, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Maplecrest Nursing Home. Prior to her stay at Maplecrest, Angeline lived happily at The Inn at Poland Way for the last five years of her life.

She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine Pisano Gillest.

She attended New Castle High School and graduated in 1946. She went on to work at Shenango China.

She married her husband, the late Doyle Love, on Aug. 30, 1947. They were married for 46 years until his death in November 1993.

Angeline and Doyle were very active in veterans’ affairs in Lawrence County, Pa.

Angeline was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Fred Love and his wife, Cheryl of Poland; one grandchild, Kevin Love and his wife, Mary of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and three great-grandchildren, Mary Love, Ann Love and Kevin Love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nettie Donofrio, Vera Brown and Loretta Zarilla; and one brother, Tracy Gillest.

Angeline’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the wonderful staff at The Inn at Poland Way and Maplecrest Nursing Home. Special thanks to the Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion shown to Angeline during her illness.

Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St., New Castle, Pa. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. The Rev. Frederick Gilbert will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Valley, Youngstown.
