Zoe Panno 1936-2024

CANFIELD — Zoe Panno, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2024.

She was born Feb. 23, 1936, to Beatrice and Jerome Cramer. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and nana. Zoe graduated from Villa Maria High School.

She met and married George. They were married for just over 65 years before George was called home.

Zoe was a dedicated mother of five and stayed home to care for her children. In the 1970s, she went to work for the March of Dimes. She was instrumental in organizing the March of Dimes WalkA-Thon. She proudly served her community with her time and talents.

In her spare time, Zoe enjoyed playing bocce on her family team at the Arco Club. She and George enjoyed vacationing together at their home in Naples, Florida, where they hosted guests, friends and family who enjoyed their time in “paradise.”

Zoe spent many years providing for her husband, children and grandchildren. Giving to others was part of her calling. “Mama Zoe” was loved and admired by all who met her.

Zoe leaves behind five children, Rosemari Panno, Mary (Dada) Panno, Phillipp (Martha) Panno, George (Pauline) Panno and Zoe Ann Panno; nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Candace, Jeremy, Amanda, Ricky, George, Phil, Angelina and Jerrett; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Alex (Betty) Panno and Anthony (Cork) Barone; and nieces and nephew.

Besides her parents and husband, Zoe was preceded in death by a son, Jerret; sister, Patty; two brothers-in-law, George and Phil; sister-in-law, Mary; son-in-law, Mark; and two nephews, Anthony (Corky) and Tom.

Family and friends may call from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all of Zoe’s caregivers. She became part of the family of Specialized Senior Care. Special thanks to The Inn at Christine Valley, and Hospice of the Valley for the kind and compassionate care shown to Zoe. Many hands helped to care for her, and many new friends became our family. Zoe was truly blessed to have such amazing caregivers.
