Jeannette Hafely 1938-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Jeannette Hafely, 85, of Youngstown, formerly of Girard and Bradenton, Florida, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Windsor House.
Jeanette was born April 15, 1938, in McKees Rocks, Pa., the daughter of Fred and Irene Collier Schimel.
She had worked at Ohio Leatherworks for four years. She would later work at Queens grocery and local deli stores.
Jeannette dedicated her time as a caregiver in North Carolina.
Jeannette and her late husband Jack loved to go dancing together. She loved going on cruises and would often have her bag packed ready to go.
She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jeannette leaves to cherish her memory her children; Marlene Tillery (Bob Young) of Vermont, Kathleen (John) Zeno of Vermont and Joyce Lipscomb of Warren; stepdaughter, Sherry (Larry) Steiner of Girard; daughter-in-law, Pat Tillery of Girard; and stepdaughter-in-law, Dianna Hafely of Florida.
Also left to live with her legacy are her 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her first husband, James Tillery; second husband, William Swauger; and Jack Hafely, who she married March 10, 1979, and lived happily until his passing on Sept. 18, 2004; her son, Fred Tillery; grandson, William Lipscomb; stepson, F. Thomas Hafely; and sister, Irene Venzio.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, followed by a funeral service starting at 1 p.m. at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
Jeannette will be laid to rest at Girard Cemetery next to her husband Jack.
