HUBBARD -- Ronald P. Ross, 67, of Hubbard passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Ron was born in Youngstown, on Thursday, Feb. 2, 1956, and was a son of Patsy and Helen Hunter Ross and a lifelong member of the community.
He was employed by UPS for 35 years, serving in many different capacities from high school, when he started part time as a package driver, until his retirement in 2008. He later worked for CVS as a delivery driver for prescriptions and retired in 2023. In recent years he also served on the Hubbard Township Zoning Board.
In his younger years, Ron enjoyed playing pickup basketball games and softball. Ron was a lifelong golfer and enjoyed golfing with family and friends. He was a 1974 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Youngstown State University.
Ron leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Helen; his wife, Lisa; and his children, Ryan (Joy) Ross of Charleston, South Carolina, Megan (Steve) Engster of Poland, and Rawnie Ross of Hubbard; a sister, Sandy Vlock of Girard; his niece, Dana Rae Vlock of Girard; and grandchildren, Addison, Gabriella, Cameron, Eleanor and Henry.
Besides his father, Patsy, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lucy McKinley and brother-in-law, Raymond Vlock.
The Ross family will receive relatives and friends Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, in St. Edward Church from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin.
