Dennis G. Carpenter 1953-2024

LIBERTY — Dennis G. Carpenter, 70, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, after complications from cardiac surgery at The Cleveland Clinic.

Dennis was born Aug. 15, 1953, in Warren, the son of Dennis and Wavelyn Gregory Carpenter.

He was a 1971 graduate of Liberty High School. Dennis previously worked for Queen’s Ranch and maintained several other area horse farms. He delivered for Logan Way Pharmacy during after-school hours. He later worked for Robco Products in Niles, Wood Age Building Products in Mineral Ridge, National Gypsum in Niles, Architectural Steel in North Jackson and retired in 2015 from National Fire and Water Repair of Youngstown.

He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and was a former member of the Buckaroos Motorcycle Club of Warren. He was also a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed his time outdoors doing landscaping, and especially enjoyed doing carpentry work.

Dennis developed a love for horses since his early days of growing up on a horse farm. He had a real love for the outdoors and for all wildlife, especially the deer and turkeys that frequented his yard.

Dennis leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Pamela Sue Kearney Carpenter, whom he married Sept. 7, 1974; his children, Alyssa R. (Steven) Schroeder of Baldwin, Georgia and Adam D. (Christina) Carpenter of Columbus; his brother, Edwin E. Carpenter of Transfer, Pa.; and grandchildren, Lauren E. Schroeder, Mallory R. Schroeder, Nathan D. Carpenter and Cameron J. Carpenter.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Blackstone Funeral Home, Girard, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to The American Lung Association or you may donate blood through the American Red Cross, in Dennis’ memory.

Weather permitting, we invite any family and friends who would like to participate in a motorcycle procession in Dennis’ honor, immediately following the service.

Dennis will be laid to rest in Churchill Cemetery.
