Charlene ‘Bunny’ West 1946-2024

ALPINE, Texas — Charlene “Bunny” West, 77, departed her earthly, temporary home Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, after a brief illness and is in glory with the One who loves her the most.

“Jesus Loves Me This I Know for the Bible Tells Me So.” Bunny believed in Jesus wholeheartedly and loved sharing Jesus with others during her time on this earth.

Bunny was born Feb. 23, 1946, to her loving parents, Mary Cerepak and Stanley Torba, in Youngstown. Bunny grew up in Struthers, graduated from Struthers High School, lived in several locations in Nevada and Texas, then took up residency for many years in Alpine, Texas, where she co-owned and worked in a lumberyard. In her later years, Bunny enjoyed getting together with friends and neighbors. Bunny spent most of her time the last five years as a very loving caretaker to her friend, Helen.

Bunny was the younger sister to Joann Howley and her late husband, Eugene Howley. She was a sweet aunt to Cindy (Drew) Decker, John (Janet) Howley and Debbie (Frank “Sparkie”) Mintern; great-aunt to Ty (Caisha) Mintern, Caitlin (Ryan) Dean, and Nick (Bianca) Mintern, and Kyli Decker; and great-great-aunt to Hudson, Paisley, Liam, Aria and Rosalina – “We Love You, Aunt Bunny!”

Bunny was a beautiful soul who loved the Lord. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and devotion to others.

There will be no services, but a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
