Angela M. Suich 1931-2024

GIRARD — Angela Marie Suich, 92, of Girard, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Angela was born April 16, 1931, at her home in Girard, the daughter of Thomas and Jenny Caputo Christopher. She was a lifelong resident of Girard, having graduated from Girard High School in 1949.

Angela had worked for Christopher Confectionary, her father’s store, as a young woman until her, and her husband Bill purchased the Girard Dairy Queen in 1962. Together they operated the Dairy Queen until 1996, when their son, Bo, purchased and continued the family business in Girard. Angela was a great cook, especially known for her chili sauce at the Dairy Queen.

A lifetime member of St. Rose Church, Angela enjoyed playing cards with her club friends, cooking, was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians fan, but her greatest joy was her love and support for her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 69 years, Charles W. “Bill” Suich Sr., whom she married April 24, 1954; children, Charles W. (Julie) Suich Jr. of Lewis Center, Kenneth A. (Becky) Suich of McDonald, Christine L. (Steve) Rose of Girard and Robert E. “Bo” (Lisa) Suich of Girard; brother, Michael Christopher of Tennessee; grandchildren, Kenneth A. ( Colleen) Suich Jr., Charles W. (Meg) Suich III, Liza (Cody) Yavorsky, Casey Suich, Angela Rose, Travis Rose, Jack Suich, Tyler Suich, Hannah Suich, Nicholas John Suich and Natalie Suich; and her great-grandson, Barrett Yavorsky.

Besides her parents, Angela is preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Watts, Mary Plecha and Peggy Christopher; and brothers, Anthony, Joseph, John and Frank Christopher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at St. Rose Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Angela will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
