Marijane Olenick 1945-2023

She was born on May 1, 1945, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Robert and Irene Allen.

Marijane was the beloved wife of Thomas Olenick; loving mother of Christopher (Laurie) Olenick and Cindy Olenick Lyons; cherished grandmother of Morgan (Doyle) Baxter, Kayla (Bryce) Kroeger, Everett Olenick, Brianna Lyons, Thomas Lyons and Sean Lyons; great-grandmother of Phoenix, Aubrey and Lorelai; and dear sister of the late Bill Allen. She also is survived by her dear four-legged companions, “my Bella girl,” Lucy and Lilly.

Marijane retired from A&P Technology as a member of the Human Resources team in 2009, but she was much more than that to all colleagues and employees, she was a friend.

Throughout her life, Marijane exemplified kindness and compassion. She possessed a gentle spirit that was motherly to all. Marijane had a deep love for music, finding solace and joy in its melodies. Overall, her family can only describe her as “perfect.”

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Norman Chapel, on the grounds of Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., where friends and family will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions, in her honor, may be made to Queen City Hospice.
